Frequently Asked Questions

What is yeast protein, and is it safe?

Yeast protein is plant-based (Vegan) protein derived from baker’s yeast. It’s 100% safe, heatstable, and contains a complete amino acid profile, making it comparable to whey in quality.

How is Yeast Classified as a Plant source?

Yeast is a non-animal organism (a fungus), meeting FSSAI’s definition of vegetarian ingredients since
it’s neither derived from animals nor involves animal testing. Baker’s Yeast is commonly used in
breads, buns, pizza dough, Idli dosa batters and even cakes as it helps with fermentation and gives
the product a soft texture

How is this protein different from Whey or other plant proteins in the market?

Just like whey Mille’s Protein has a PDCAAS score of 1.0, delivering all 9 essential amino acids and
7.1g BCAAs per scoop for the unflavoured protein and 5.7g per scoop for the Coffee Hazelnut
Protein. It’s gut-friendly, bloat-free, and completely free from soy, dairy, and gluten

Can I cook with Protein? Will heat destroy the protein?

Yes! Mille’s yeast protein is heat-stable, so it can be stirred into hot dishes or used while
baking without disintegrating or losing its nutritional value.

Who in my family can have this Protein?

It’s designed for everyone in the family: Parents, working professionals, and seniors - to help meet
daily protein needs, especially in vegetarian or carb-heavy diets. This product is not intended for
children.

Will the unflavoured Protein change the taste or texture of our food?

Not at all. It’s completely unflavoured and finely powdered, so it mixes invisibly into food without
altering taste, texture, or aroma.

Why do we even need extra protein if we’re eating lentils and vegetables?

While Indian diets include protein-rich foods, most people still fall 20–30% short of their daily
protein needs. Mille Protein helps you bridge that protein gap effortlessly

How much protein does one sachet of Protein give?

Each unflavoured protein sachet delivers 31g per scoop of high-quality, complete protein and each
coffee protein sachet delivers 25g of Protein per scoop.

Is fermented yeast protein better than whey or soy protein?

Unlike Whey or Soy, Yeast protein is gut-friendly, allergen-free, and doesn’t cause bloating or
hormonal concerns. It’s also sustainably produced and suitable for vegetarians

Is it safe for pregnant or lactating women?

We recommend consulting with your doctor prior to consumption.

What if someone in the family is lactose or gluten intolerant?

No worries. The fermented yeast is 100% lactose-free, gluten-free, the product is gluten free, but
it is manufactured in a facility that processes wheat and nuts so it may contain trace elements of
wheat), it is vegan and suitable for almost all dietary needs.

How should I store the protein packets?

Keep them in a cool, dry place, no refrigeration needed. They’re travel-friendly too!

Is this something I can use long-term?

Absolutely. Think of it not as a supplement, but a daily food upgrade - helping you stay consistent
with your nutrition without drastic diet changes.

Is this a meal replacement?

The product is a protein supplement and not intended to be a meal replacement. A good meal
should ideally include a holistic blend of carbs, fats, fibre and protein

If I have Diabetes can I consume the protein?

The unflavoured protein does not have any added sugar and hence can be consumed by diabetics
whereas the Coffee Hazelnut Protein has a blend of Monk Fruit (zero calorie sweetener) as well as
Date Powder used and is not ideal for someone with diabetes. We however recommend checking
with your doctor once before consumption.

How many servings do I get per pack?

If you have purchased the 500 gram pack, you should get 13-14 servings and the single serve pack
(38g) gives you one full serving.

What is the shelf life of the product?

12 months

After opening the pack, how quickly should they consume?

Once the pack is opened,it is best to consume it within a month. Always make sure the pack is
sealed after opening so that moisture exposure is minimal. Also make sure the pack is kept away
from direct sunlight in a cool, dry place.

What is the best method of preparation?

One scoop of protein powder can be added to 300ml (approx. 1.5 cups of water/milk of your
choice) Apart from this both the proteins can be used in smoothies, and added to your
oatmeals/Muesli. Because Yeast Protein is heat stable, it can also be added to your dals, roti dough
