Ingredients
Millets
- 1 cup of Mille Little Millet Whole Grains
- 2 cups of water
- Salt (to taste)
Lentil
- 1 cup moong dal (yellow lentils)
- 3 cups water
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon ghee or oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 small tomato, finely chopped
- 1 green chili, slit lengthwise
- Salt (to taste)
Instructions
- Rinse the little millet under running water and drain. In a pot, add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil. Add the little millet and salt to the pot. Cook the Little Millet Whole Grain in water for 6-8 minutes. Mix.
- Rinse the moong dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 15-20 minutes.
- In a pressure cooker, add the soaked dal, water, and turmeric powder. Mix well.
- Cook the dal for about 3-4 whistles in a pressure cooker or until the dal is soft and cooked through.
- In a separate pan, heat ghee or oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent. Add chopped tomatoes and green chili, and cook until the tomatoes are soft and mushy.
- Add the cooked dal to the pan and mix well. Add salt to taste and let it simmer for a few minutes.
- Garnish with chopped coriander and serve with millets.
